A sheer wash of permanent color that restores definition and a healthy tint to your lips, like they've been stained by a berry. No daily lipstick, no smudging, just lips that look like yours on their best day.

Technique 01

lip blush & full cover color

Permanent lip color, also called lip blushing, lip tint, or lip tattoo, enhances the natural contour of your lips with a boost of color and the illusion of fullness. Specialized pigments designed for delicate lip tissue are implanted with precise digital tools and minimal trauma, for a smoother heal and a smudge-proof result that replaces your daily lipstick.

Technique 02

aqua watercolor lips

The aqua lip color procedure, also known as the watercolor technique or lip blush, is a semi-permanent tint that stays sheer and translucent, like lips after sipping water. It creates the most natural color distribution, close to your own form and color: your symmetry stays untouched while a new subtle color and shine surface appears.

Technique 03

full cover kissed lips effect

This advanced permanent lip technique is created using 3 carefully selected shades.

Full cover kissed lips effect, soft nude border blending into a deeper, juicy inner lip color
Kissed Lips · $600

three shades, one seamless finish

A light nude pigment is applied along the outer border of the lips to create a soft “kissed lips” effect — without a harsh contour. This helps visually add volume and keeps the result elegant and natural.

Next, a medium shade close to the client’s natural lip tone is layered to blend the color seamlessly.

Finally, a slightly deeper shade is placed toward the inner lip to add depth and richness, making the lips look more vibrant, juicy, and balanced.

The Healing Process

how to care for lips after the appointment

Every 2 hours after your procedure, gently wash your lips with a cotton pad and water. If there is any swelling, redness and/or bruising, it will go away in 3-5 days.

In 3-4 days, your skin should be moistened with the given aftercare ointment in a large rice grain amount max 2 times a day.

When the skin begins to shed, DON’T scratch or pick at them, only allow the dry skin to come off on its own.

In 4-7 days, the crusts will go away by themselves. Until then, the lips cannot be made wet for long periods of time, steamed, etc. No scrubs, masks, or steam baths. Very active physical labor (like cross fit) with abundant sweating is strictly prohibited. Decorative cosmetics on the lip area is also prohibited.

Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 50% once the healing process is complete, sometimes the skin does not take the pigment after the first session, this is a normal reaction; that’s why we need a touch up.

IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY of cold sores, please, treat the area with prescribed medications as per your physician’s recommendations starting from the day of the procedure, ending in 4-5 days after to prevent the cold sore to appear.

Color may appear sketchy at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

Questions

lip blush faq

What if I have a history of cold sores?

Call your doctor and ask for a medication. They usually prescribe valacyclovir. We recommend you start taking it on the day of the procedure.

Are lip tattoos permanent?

Lip tattoos typically last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, sometimes longer, before a touch-up is needed to maintain color and shape. Longevity depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well aftercare instructions are followed, and certain colors may fade more quickly than others.

Does lip blushing hurt?

A strong topical anesthetic is applied to the lips during the procedure, which significantly reduces sensation — we never numb beforehand, as pre-numbing can affect the healed result. Most clients feel a vibrating or buzzing feeling, or mild discomfort rather than sharp pain.

What's the difference between lip blush, aqua watercolor, and full cover?

Lip blush and the aqua watercolor technique ($500) create a sheer, translucent tint, the most natural result, close to your own lip color. Full cover lip color ($550) distributes more saturated pigment across the entire lip for a lipstick-like look, and is ideal for correcting uneven tone or lost pigmentation. The feathered contour ($500) adds soft definition and the illusion of volume along the lip border.

How long does the appointment take?

Plan for about 1 hr 15 min for aqua watercolor lips, 1 hr 25 min for the feathered contour, and around 2 hours for full cover lip color.

Will I need a touchup?

Yes, permanent makeup is a two-step procedure. A touchup session ($200), usually 1–3 months after your initial appointment, adds color and refines the tone or shape. Touchups are for returning Calypso Beauty clients; to refresh work older than 6 months, book a Refresh procedure instead.

How much does permanent lip color cost in Bellevue / Kirkland?

At Calypso Beauty, Full Cover Lip Color is $550, while Aqua / Water Color and Feathered Contour are $500 each. Touchup sessions are $200. Every treatment begins with mapping and color selection so we can match technique and shade to your lips.
